Welcome to Teoul Moon Kung Fu!
This site is dedicated to the teachings of Teoul Moon Kung Fu. Kung Fu is an Americanized term for Chinese martial arts. Teoul Moon is a composite system based heavily on the Shaolin Five Animal system, Preying Mantis, and Hung Gar. It is headquartered in Songtan, Republic of Korea and has schools around the world. The style is headed by Grand Master Yim, Hon Suk. Master Yim also studies and teaches Tae Chi, Chi Gung and Contemporary Wushu.

I've had quite a few requests for video of the Teoul Moon system. Although I'd love to post some demonstrations, I unfortunately have no footage. Master Yim did give me some prior to leaving Korea, but it did not appear to copy correctly. Anyway, below you'll find some brief clips of Master Yim performing some of our forms. In most cases he is going very slow because he is demonstrating for the camera. I put the leopard clip in so you can see how fast he normally is.

Happy New Year! Resolutions are prolific at this point in the year and I believe that is only right. The proverbial slate has been cleared and we all have the chance to start over. For me, this means an opportunity to reenergize my kung fu training and press forward with an aggressive workout program. I’m starting a new thread in the post area that will become my workout journal. I’ll be posting how my training is going and how I’m doing. All my Teoul Moon brothers and sisters are welcome to read my journal and any comments (or encouragements) can be posted in the Teoul Moon Members forum.
This journal will only be viewable by those who have registered and are a member of the Teoul Moon user group. If you’ve previously studied Teoul Moon and would like to join the group, please email me and let me know ( webmaster@teoulmoon.org). In order to be entered into the members forum, you must presently or previously studied Teoul Moon or be sponsored by someone who has. |

9/11 Remembered - My heroes |
|

It's no secret that I'm in the military. I'm proud of my service and I'm not scared to tell anyone about it. Granted, I'll never get rich wearing this uniform, but at least I know I'm part of something bigger than myself, and yeah, I think I make a difference. My son once asked me if I was a hero? I suppose it's the innocence of a child that would prompt such a question. I told him, ‘no, I'm not a hero, but I've seen heroes’. I suppose on 9/11, that’s what I think of the most; the people I think of as heroes. Like those brave firemen and police that stormed into the burning towers on 9/11, never to return. But let's not forget, they do that everyday. Yeah, they're heroes!
Of course, mentioning heroes, I remember watching a convoy of young Special Forces guys leave our camp on their way north into Iraq. Some looked excited; some looked scared; they all looked young. I remember feeling this pull, this mad desire to go with them. Don't get me wrong, I'm no war-hound. I just hate seeing anyone have to face danger in my place. Anyway, every one of those kids volunteered to hold that rifle and do the job they were called to do. Yeah, I mark them on my hero list too.
I also think of my cousins in Pine City, New York. I’d bet they don’t consider themselves heroes, but I do. They work their normal jobs, doing this and that, but then they volunteer at the local fire department. You see, up in the Northeast, a lot of communities don’t have paid fire departments. Instead, they rely on volunteers. Imagine that, doing one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, being there to help strangers in their darkest moments, and expecting nothing in return. Yeah, I gotta mark them up as heroes.
And I can’t forget my niece and nephew, both deployed to the Middle East, one with a newborn son and the other with an expecting wife. I sometimes wonder if they know how proud I am of them. I wish to God I could change this world and allow them to live in peace, but I’m also honored to think that when the barbarians are at the gate, they’re standing there shoulder-to-shoulder with me. Yeah, they’re heroes too. |

I've had several requests asking for information on the Teoul Moon Kung Fu System and how we train. I've put together a brief outline of the Basic Workout. This workout changes depending on what Master Yim feels is best to train his students, so don't go thinking this is set-in-stone. Click here to see the basic workout outline. |

Master Yim's Interview with Asia Down Under. |
|
As most of you are aware, Master Yim went to New Zealand a few months ago to visit friends and spread the word of his healing chi gung. Word traveled fast and he ended up helping several hundred people while there. He also did an interview with a few televisions shows, one of which is the popular morning show called Asia Down Under. Below is the actual interview. Please be patient as the video will have to buffer before you can start it.

Basic Workout
|
|
Kung Fu Training in the Teoul Moon system is built around what we call our Basic Workout. This workout changes depending on what Master Yim feels is best to train his students, but fundementaly it has remained the same since the creation of the system. The length and intensity of the workout is regulated by how long the student has been training and how much they know.
Click here to see the Basic Workout.
Click here to see Conrad's Stance and Weapons Page for examples of what our stances look like and some of the weapons we train with.
